E Rank Explained: What It Does Well, and Where TEOM Picks Up
"E Rank" is how a lot of sellers type it, so let's start there: E Rank is eRank (erank.com), an Etsy SEO and analytics tool launched in January 2016 under the name EtsyRank. It helps you find keywords, audit listings, check where you rank and follow competitors. It has a free plan and paid plans at $5.99, $9.99 and $29.99 a month.
That's the what. The more useful part is when it's the right tool, and when you'll want something that looks at the market instead of the keyword.
The four jobs E Rank does
eRank's own help center groups its tools into a handful of jobs:
- Keyword research. Look up a term, see related phrases and trend data, save keyword lists.
- Competitor analysis. Track other shops and what changes in them.
- Trend tracking. See what's rising in search.
- Shop health. Audit your listings against SEO basics and spot problems.
There's also a Chrome extension that shows eRank data while you browse Etsy, and eRank says its data covers more than a dozen marketplaces, including Amazon and eBay.
Do this today: open your best-selling listing and check three things by hand: is the main keyword in the first 40 characters of the title, are all 13 tags used, and does every tag describe what a buyer types? That's most of a listing audit.
The plans, in one table

Two things to notice:
- eRank limits are per tool. On Basic you get 100 keyword lookups and 50 listing audits a day.
- Annual billing is cheaper. eRank lists $65.99 a year for Basic, $94.99 for Pro and $269.99 for Expert.
What E Rank is best at
E Rank is strongest when your products already exist and the goal is to be found:
- Finding the exact phrases buyers type
- Checking where your listing ranks for them
- Fixing titles and tags that leave traffic on the table
If that's your bottleneck, it's a sensible tool, and the free plan is a fine place to start.
Where TEOM picks up
The question that keyword tools leave open is the one that comes before SEO: should I make this product at all?
That's the job TEOM was built for.
In TEOM: Find products runs a live Etsy search and returns a market snapshot (demand, competition, median price, share of new listings, share with zero favorites) plus every listing ranked by opportunity, with estimated monthly sales and revenue.
In TEOM: Analyze a shop flags weak spots across any public shop: short titles, listings using fewer than 13 tags, thin descriptions under 300 characters and listings that haven't changed in 6+ months.

The two approaches fit together. Use market data to choose what to sell, then keyword data to make sure buyers find it.
Price check: E Rank vs TEOM
| eRank | TEOM (planned) | |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 5 keyword lookups/day | 10 searches/day, every tool |
| Entry | $5.99/month | $5/month, 100 searches/day |
| Next | $9.99/month | $9/month, 250 searches/day |
| Top | $29.99/month (Expert) | — |
TEOM is free during early access, and the plans above apply once paid plans launch. A TEOM search is any query you run with Enter in any tab, so one counter covers research, SEO and AI tools alike.
Do this today: decide which of these you need more this month: finding products or getting found. Start with the tool that answers that.
Getting started with either tool in 20 minutes
Pick your best-selling product. In a keyword tool, check its three main phrases for search activity. In TEOM, run the product as a search and note the median price and competition. You now know whether your problem is visibility or market position, and which tool deserves more of your time.
